About the Job
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, extensive knowledge of surface preparation, application techniques, and finishes, and takes pride in delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting interior and exterior surfaces on residential and commercial projects while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching holes, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
- Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mix and match paints and stains to achieve desired colors and textures.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape to prevent damage or overspray.
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure uniformity, smoothness, and proper coverage.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a tidy workspace.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines and project standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional painting experience (residential or commercial).
- Strong understanding of paint types, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints or work orders and follow project specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and steady hand coordination.
- Must have reliable transportation and basic painting tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with spray painting and specialty finishes (e.g., faux, texture, epoxy).
- Knowledge of drywall repair and minor carpentry.
- OSHA or safety certification is a plus.
