Wilton Manors, FloridaFull-time
$150 - $200 daily
About the Job
Skilled Framer / Carpenter
Location: South Florida
Position Type: Full-Time
Industry: Residential & Commercial Construction

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Framer/Carpenter to join our construction team.

The ideal candidate must be more than someone who can simply frame walls. We are looking for a well-rounded construction professional with strong framing and carpentry skills who also has meaningful hands-on experience in other areas of construction.

Our projects require people who can take ownership of their work, understand how the different trades come together, solve problems in the field, and step in wherever needed.

Framing and carpentry will be your primary responsibility, but versatility is extremely important to us.

Primary Framing & Carpentry Responsibilities:
  • Perform residential and commercial framing from layout through completion.
  • Frame exterior and interior walls.
  • Frame roofs, ceilings, soffits, and other structural/non-structural components.
  • Install headers, beams, posts, blocking, backing, and structural components.
  • Perform accurate layout from architectural and structural plans.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Install doors, windows, rough openings, and framing components.
  • Perform detailed finish carpentry when required.
  • Build stairs, platforms, soffits, chases, and specialty framing.
  • Work with dimensional lumber, engineered lumber, LVLs, plywood, OSB, and other construction materials.
  • Understand proper fastening, connections, bracing, and structural requirements.
  • Identify framing conflicts with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other trades.
  • Correct framing issues and make field adjustments when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate dimensions, elevations, plumb, level, and square.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Multi-Trade Experience — Extremely Important:
We are specifically looking for a carpenter/framer who can do more than carpentry.

You do not need to be a master of every construction trade. However, you should have solid hands-on experience and be comfortable assisting with other phases of construction.

Experience in any of the following is highly valued:
  • Concrete.
  • Formwork.
  • Rebar.
  • Tie-beam construction.
  • Masonry / block work.
  • Drywall installation.
  • Drywall finishing.
  • Tile installation.
  • Waterproofing.
  • Roofing.
  • Plumbing.
  • Electrical.
  • HVAC.
  • Exterior siding.
  • Doors and windows.
  • Finish carpentry.
  • General construction.
  • Punch-list and repair work.

The more construction disciplines you understand, the more valuable you are to our team.

We want someone who can spend the morning framing a wall, recognize a plumbing conflict, help resolve the issue, and then assist another crew with general construction work when necessary.

What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate is:
  • An exceptionally strong framer/carpenter.
  • Experienced with both structural and general carpentry.
  • Extremely attentive to detail.
  • Able to read and understand plans.
  • Able to perform accurate measurements and layout.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A strong problem solver.
  • Comfortable working with other trades.
  • Capable of identifying problems before they become expensive.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding construction work.
  • Willing to learn and take on tasks outside of their primary trade.
  • Able to maintain professional workmanship and jobsite standards.

Quality Is a Priority:
  • We are looking for quality professionals — not people who simply want to get the job done as quickly as possible.
  • We expect our carpenters to take pride in their workmanship.
  • Walls need to be straight.
  • Corners need to be square.
  • Openings need to be accurate.
  • Elevations need to be correct.
  • Connections need to be properly executed.
  • Details matter.

Shortcuts, careless work, poor measurements, and repeatedly having to redo work will not be acceptable.

We want someone who understands that the quality of the framing affects every trade that comes after it.

Experience With High-End Construction:
Experience working on high-quality or luxury residential construction is strongly preferred.

Candidates should understand the higher level of precision expected when working on custom homes where framing, drywall, doors, windows, cabinets, tile, and finish materials all need to work together precisely.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive framing/carpentry experience.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction.
  • Ability to read architectural and structural plans.
  • Ability to perform accurate layout.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Experience with new construction preferred.
  • Luxury/high-end residential experience is a major plus.
  • Additional trade experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation:
Competitive compensation based on experience, skill level, craftsmanship, and overall construction abilities.

Candidates with exceptional framing skills and strong multi-trade experience may qualify for higher compensation.

The Type of Person We Want:
We are looking for someone who can honestly say: "Framing is what I do best, but I know how to build a house."

If you are an experienced carpenter/framer who understands multiple areas of construction, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, pays attention to the details, and is willing to help wherever needed, we want to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us about your framing/carpentry experience and the other construction trades you are experienced in.
