Skilled Masonry Block Worker – Multi-Trade Construction Professional
We are seeking an experienced Skilled Masonry Block Worker to join our growing construction team. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and highly skilled in block work, with the ability to assist in other areas of construction as needed.
We are looking for a professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently, and understands the importance of accuracy, safety, and job site productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lay concrete block, CMU, and other masonry materials according to plans and layout.
- Mix mortar and maintain proper consistency for masonry work.
- Build walls, footings, columns, and other structural masonry components.
- Read and follow construction drawings, dimensions, and layout instructions.
- Perform grouting, reinforcement placement, and basic concrete-related tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with other trades to keep projects on schedule.
- Assist with other construction tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of masonry block experience.
- Strong knowledge of block laying, mortar application, and masonry best practices.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and follow layout lines.
- Experience working on residential or commercial construction projects.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dependability.
Additional Skills Preferred:
While masonry block work is the main focus, experience in the following areas is a plus:
- Concrete work.
- Wood framing.
- Drywall installation or repair.
- Stucco or plaster.
- Finish carpentry.
- Demolition and general labor.
- Minor repair and punch-list work.
